Join OSM Thome as 3rd Officer Junior on our Oil/Chemical Tanker fleet trading in Europe. This is a great step for a young deck officer looking to build solid tanker experience in a safe and professional environment.

Key responsibilities

• Stand navigational watch under the supervision of senior officers
• Assist with voyage planning, position fixing and safe navigation
• Support cargo operations, tank inspections and line checks as directed
• Carry out routine safety rounds, checks and maintenance on deck equipment
• Assist in drills, emergency response and implementation of safety procedures
• Prepare and maintain logs, records and reports as required

Requirements

• Valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) Deck license, meeting STCW requirements
• Tanker (Oil/Chemical) familiarization and required STCW tanker certificates
• Valid STCW basic safety training and seafarer medical fitness certificate
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Previous sea service as Deck Cadet or Junior Officer preferred
• Safety-minded, willing to learn and able to work well within an international crew
