Key responsibilities

• Carry out steel repairs, welding, cutting and fabrication work as instructed by the Chief Engineer
• Maintain and repair pipelines, supports, tanks, ladders and deck fittings
• Assist with maintenance of engine room and deck machinery and equipment
• Use and maintain welding, cutting and grinding tools in a safe manner
• Follow safety procedures and permit-to-work systems at all times
• Support general engine department duties as required

Requirements

• Previous experience as Fitter onboard tanker vessels, preferably crude oil
• Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness suitable for tanker trade
• Proven welding and metal fabrication skills (arc, gas, cutting, grinding)
• Good command of English, spoken and written
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work in a multinational crew
