OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Electro Technical Officer (ETO) to serve on oil/chemical tankers trading worldwide. If you are confident working independently with all electrical and electronic systems on board, this could be the right next step in your sea career. Key responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair all electrical, electronic and control systems on board, including power generation and distribution
  • Carry out maintenance and troubleshooting on navigation, communication, cargo control and automation systems
  • Support safe and efficient cargo operations, especially cargo pumps and associated control systems
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance, faults, repairs and spare parts
  • Work closely with the Master, Chief Engineer and deck/engine teams to ensure safe tanker operations
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with company procedures, class and flag state requirements

Requirements

  • Valid ETO CoC in accordance with STCW, endorsed for service on tankers
  • Recent experience as ETO on oil/chemical tankers
  • Tanker training certificates (at least Advanced Oil and/or Chemical Tanker familiarization, as applicable)
  • Strong hands-on skills in troubleshooting and repair of electrical, electronic and automation systems
  • Good command of English, spoken and written
  • Medically fit for sea service and holding all valid mandatory certificates and documents
