OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Chief Cook (C/C) to work onboard a container vessel trading worldwide. You will be in charge of the galley, providing safe, healthy and tasty meals for the crew and officers.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare daily meals for all crew and officers
- Order, receive and store provisions and galley stores
- Control galley hygiene and food safety at all times
- Monitor stock levels and avoid waste
- Supervise and train galley ratings when required
- Follow vessel safety rules and take part in drills
Requirements:
- Previous sea service as Chief Cook on deep-sea vessels, preferably container
- Valid COC/COP as per STCW for Ship’s Cook / Chief Cook
- Up-to-date STCW basic safety and medical certificates
- Good knowledge of international and Asian cuisine
- Strong focus on hygiene, food safety and cost control
- Good English communication skills
