We are looking for an experienced 2nd Engineer (2/E) to join our general cargo vessel trading in Australia. You will support the Chief Engineer in running and maintaining all engine room machinery and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient vessel operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Engineer in day-to-day engine room operations and maintenance
• Operate, monitor and maintain main engine, auxiliaries and related systems
• Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance jobs
• Keep engine room logs, records and maintenance reports up to date
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and company procedures
• Supervise and guide engine ratings during watch and maintenance work

Requirements

• Valid 2nd Engineer (III/2) CoC, meeting STCW requirements
• Previous experience as 2/E, preferably on general cargo or similar vessels
• Valid STCW safety and security certificates and valid Seafarer’s Medical
• Good English communication skills
• Strong focus on safety, teamwork and planned maintenance
