Start your seagoing career as a Catering Trainee on board our oil/chemical tankers trading worldwide. Work side by side with the galley and mess crew, learn good shipboard routines, and grow towards a full catering rating position with OSM Thome.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Cook  with meal preparation and basic galley duties
• Help with serving food and maintaining a clean and tidy mess room
• Carry out dishwashing, garbage segregation and general cleaning in galley and pantry
• Follow shipboard hygiene, safety and food-handling standards at all times
• Support ordering, receiving and proper storage of provisions

Requirements

• Previous basic experience in kitchen or hotel/catering is an advantage
• Good command of English, spoken and written
• Valid STCW basic safety training and medical fitness certificate
• Willingness to learn, follow instructions and work in a multinational crew
• Flexible to sail worldwide and work on board for the full contract period
