Specialty Restaurant Server
The Specialty Restaurant Server plays a vital role in creating an exceptional dining experience within one of our premium specialty venues. This position focuses on delivering outstanding guest service through attentiveness, professionalism, and a strong knowledge of our culinary offerings. Working closely with the culinary and service teams, the server ensures smooth operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and hygiene. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, committed to guest satisfaction, and dedicated to service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold the company’s hospitality standards by warmly greeting guests and colleagues with a smile, maintaining eye contact, and using names when possible.
- Welcome and seat guests, present menus, and clearly explain daily specials and featured steak selections.
- Arrive punctually for all shifts, dressed in full uniform and meeting grooming standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized service area with properly prepared utensils, glassware, and linens.
- Set and reset tables according to steakhouse standards, ensuring an inviting and polished environment.
- Accurately take orders, answer menu-related questions, and provide thoughtful recommendations, including beverage pairings.
- Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring correct temperature, presentation, and adherence to dietary requirements.
- Handle guest requests efficiently and communicate orders clearly to the kitchen.
- Promote and upsell menu items to enhance the overall dining experience.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve concerns promptly with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
- Ensure stations are properly set up with all required mise en place and that equipment is functioning correctly.
- Complete assigned side duties before and after service.
- Handle equipment and tableware carefully to minimize breakage and control costs.
- Check in with guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and assist with special occasions (e.g., cake presentation and celebrations).
- Communicate effectively with management and team members to support seamless service.
- Support, guide, and help train junior staff.
- Participate in ongoing training to improve service skills and product knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and operational procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Fine Dining Expertise
- Proven experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.
- Strong understanding of advanced service techniques, including wine service, tableside preparation, and silver service.
Culinary Knowledge
- Familiarity with a variety of cuisines, particularly those featured in the restaurant.
- Ability to confidently describe dishes and recommend pairings.
Communication Skills
- Professional, engaging, and courteous interaction with guests.
