Join OSM Thome as a Butcher on a passenger ocean cruise vessel calling Spain. Work at sea in an international team, ensuring high-quality meat preparation and smooth galley operations for our guests and crew.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, portion and prepare all meat, poultry and related products to galley standards
- Follow menus, portion sizes and specifications from the Executive Chef
- Ensure proper thawing, storage, labeling and rotation of all meat items (FIFO)
- Maintain strict hygiene, cleanliness and safe work practices in the butchery area
- Assist the galley team during peak times as required
- Follow all vessel food safety and HACCP procedures
Requirements
- Documented and certified in food safety.
- Basic Safety Training (BST) and all other certification and documentation in force at the time of engagement compliant with the flag state requirements of the vessel to which you are assigned.
- All other certification (including visas etc.) required and in force at the time of your employment to comply with the Flag State requirements of the ship to which you are assigned.
- Fluent in oral and written English (working & Safety language of the Company)
- Minimum 1 years’ experience as 1st Butcher
- Documented skills in the meat and fish preparation department on a large Cruise ship or in a similar environment ashore.
- High school graduate
- Sound knowledge of Corazul Cruceros sanitation standards protocols relating to food safety and HACCP controls.
- Certified medically and physically fit to work in a food preparation area.
- Proven ability to work in a harmonious productive team environment.
