Set sail with OSM Thome as Assistant Butcher on an ocean cruise passenger vessel. Work in a busy galley, support the Butcher and Galley team, and help ensure top-quality meat and poultry preparation for guests and crew.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in cutting, trimming, and portioning all meat and poultry
- Follow daily production plans and portion control standards
- Store and handle meat products according to hygiene and safety rules
- Keep the butchery and cold rooms clean, organized, and in good order
- Support stock checks, rotation, and proper labeling
- Work closely with the Butcher and Galley team during service and preparation
Requirements
- Previous experience as butcher or assistant butcher, ideally at sea or in large-scale kitchens
- Good knowledge of meat cuts, trimming, and basic processing
- Understanding of food safety, HACCP, and hygiene standards
- Valid seafarer documents and medicals as per international regulations
- Ability to work in shifts and under pressure in a fast-paced galley
- Good command of English and a cooperative, team-focused attitude
