Join OSM Thome as an Able Seafarer (AB) on a General Cargo vessel trading in Australian waters. Work with an experienced crew, keep the vessel safe and seaworthy, and build your sea-time in a solid, professional environment.

• Key responsibilities:
• Carry out deck duties including mooring, anchoring, cargo handling and watchkeeping
• Perform lookout and helmsman duties as directed by the Officer of the Watch
• Assist with routine maintenance, chipping, painting, cleaning and general deck upkeep
• Support safety drills, emergency duties and safe working practices on deck
• Operate and care for deck equipment and gear in accordance with instructions

• Requirements:
• Valid AB Certificate and seagoing experience on cargo vessels
• STCW certificates in line with international and Australian requirements
• Valid seafarer medical certificate and seaman’s book
• Good command of English for shipboard communication and safety
• Fit for deck work, safety-minded and able to work in a mixed-nationality crew
