OSM Thome is looking for a reliable  Assistant Cook to support the galley team on board in Antarctica. You will help prepare daily meals for crew and guests, keep the galley clean and organized, and make sure food is served safely and on time in challenging polar conditions.

• Key responsibilities:
• Assist Chief Cook with meal preparation for crew and officers
• Prepare simple dishes, salads, snacks and baking as required
• Follow standard menus, recipes and portion control
• Maintain cleanliness of galley, stores and equipment
• Observe strict hygiene, food safety and waste management rules
• Support in loading, checking and proper storage of provisions

• Requirements:
• Experience as Assistant Cook  ideally on ships or remote camps
• Background in hotel/restaurant or catering preferred
• Basic knowledge of safe food handling and galley hygiene
• Fit for duty and able to work in cold and isolated conditions
• Good English communication and team attitude
• Valid seafarer documents and medical, or readiness to obtain them
