We are looking for an experienced 4th Engineer / Junior Engineer for a container vessel trading worldwide. You will work as part of the engine room team, supporting safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all machinery and equipment on board.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in operation, monitoring and maintenance of main engine and auxiliary engines
- Carry out routine checks, planned maintenance and repairs of engine room machinery
- Monitor and maintain boilers, purifiers, compressors, pumps and other auxiliary systems
- Assist with bunkering operations and fuel oil / lube oil transfers as instructed
- Maintain engine room cleanliness, proper housekeeping and safe working practices
- Keep accurate engine room logs and report any defects or abnormalities to senior engineers
- Follow all safety, environmental and company procedures at all times
Requirements
- Valid 4th Engineer / Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OICEW) CoC, III/1 or equivalent
- Located in Europe
- Previous sea service in engine department, preferably on container vessels
- Valid STCW certificates, including Basic Training and Advanced Fire Fighting
- Valid medical fitness certificate (Seafarer Medical)
- Good English communication skills, both spoken and written
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work well in a multinational engine room team
