Join OSM Thome as Assistant Cook on a passenger ferry sailing in the Netherlands. You will support the Galley team in preparing good, safe meals for crew and passengers, keeping high standards of hygiene and helping with daily galley routines.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist Chief Cook in preparing and cooking daily meals
- Help with baking, salads, and special diet meals as needed
- Maintain galley and stores in clean and orderly condition
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist with receiving, checking, and proper storage of provisions
- Support in waste handling and correct use of galley equipment
- Requirements:
- Experience as Assistant Cook onboard vessels, preferably passenger or ferry
- Basic maritime safety certificates according to STCW
- Good knowledge of safe food handling and galley hygiene
- Ability to work in shifts and in a busy galley environment
- Good English communication skills
- Team player with a positive and service-minded attitude
