- Key responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise deck ratings in all deck operations
- Organize and carry out mooring, unmooring and anchoring duties
- Oversee cargo tank deck work and assist in cargo-related operations as required
- Plan and perform deck maintenance, painting, chipping and repairs
- Ensure safe working practices and proper use of tools and equipment
- Report deck conditions and maintenance needs to Chief Officer
- Requirements:
- Previous experience as Bosun, preferably on oil/chemical tankers
- Valid STCW certificates and Bosun/AB documents as per flag requirements
- Tanker familiarization and, ideally, advanced tanker certificates
- Good English communication skills
- Strong leadership, good seamanship and a safety-first attitude
