We are looking for an experienced Butcher to work on a passenger ferry in Europe. You will handle all meat preparation for the galley, ensuring safe, high-quality food for guests and crew.
Key responsibilities
- Cut, trim and portion all types of meat and poultry according to menu and standards
- Ensure correct thawing, handling, storage and labeling of all meat products
- Work closely with the galley team to support smooth meal service
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the butcher’s area
- Follow all food safety, HACCP and company procedures
- Control stock levels and report any shortages or issues to the chef
Requirements
- Proven experience as a butcher, preferably on passenger vessels or ferries
- Good knowledge of meat cuts, portion control and safe food handling
- Valid seafarer documents and medicals as per STCW and flag/state rules
- Ability to work in a fast-paced galley environment and follow instructions
- Good communication in English
