Join OSM Thome as Electro Technical Officer (ETO) on oil/chemical tankers trading worldwide. You will be part of the vessel’s technical team, keeping all electrical and electronic systems safe and reliable throughout the voyage.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair all electrical and electronic equipment on board, including power generation and distribution systems
- Look after engine room and deck automation, control systems and instrumentation
- Maintain and test navigation and communication equipment according to company and regulatory standards
- Ensure safe operation of high-voltage equipment and follow all safety procedures
- Keep records of maintenance, repairs and spare parts and assist with planned maintenance
- Support the engine and deck teams with technical issues when required
Requirements
- Valid Electro Technical Officer (ETO) CoC in accordance with STCW
- Previous seagoing experience as ETO, preferably on oil/chemical tankers
- Good knowledge of marine electrical, electronic and automation systems
- Familiarity with tanker operations and safety procedures
- Valid STCW basic and advanced safety trainings and medical certificate
- Good command of English and ability to work in an international crew
- Strong safety mindset and hands-on problem-solving skills
