Join OSM Thome as 2nd Engineer on an Oil/Chemical Tanker trading in Europe. You will be a key part of the engine room team, keeping all machinery running safely and efficiently while supporting the Chief Engineer in daily operations and maintenance.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Engineer with safe and smooth operation of all engine room equipment
- Plan and carry out routine and preventive maintenance on main engine and auxiliaries
- Monitor and record engine room parameters, reporting any abnormalities
- Supervise engine room ratings and ensure safe working practices
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and MARPOL requirements
- Support bunkering operations, fuel management and record keeping
- Take part in drills and contribute to onboard safety culture
- Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Engineer CoC for Oil/Chemical Tankers
- Experience sailing as 2/E on Oil/Chemical Tankers
- Valid STCW certificates and tanker endorsements as per rank
- Good knowledge of engine room systems and planned maintenance
- Good English communication skills
- Fit for duty with valid medical certificate
