Join OSM Thome as 2nd Engineer (2/E) on oil/chemical tankers trading worldwide. You will work with an experienced engine team and support safe, reliable and efficient vessel operations.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist Chief Engineer in daily engine room operations and maintenance
- Monitor, operate and maintain main engine, auxiliary engines and related machinery
- Carry out planned maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of fuel, lube oil and cooling systems
- Keep engine room records, logs and reports up to company and flag standards
- Support bunkering operations and pollution prevention procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and tanker regulations at all times
- Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Engineer (Motor) CoC, STCW-compliant
- Recent experience as 2/E or strong 3/E background on oil/chemical tankers
- Valid STCW basic and tanker/chemical endorsements
- Good knowledge of engine room systems and planned maintenance routines
- Good English communication skills, written and spoken
- Medically fit for sea service and holding valid seafarer documents
