Join OSM Thome as Safety Officer onboard a Service Operation Vessel (SOV) in Brunei. You will play a key role in keeping crew, contractors, and vessel operations safe, while supporting daily offshore work in a hands-on environment.
- Key responsibilities:
- Monitor and promote safe working practices across all areas of the vessel
- Carry out safety inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks
- Lead incident and near-miss reporting, and assist in investigations
- Support drills and training for emergency response and safety procedures
- Ensure compliance with company SMS, flag state, and international regulations
- Advise the Master and officers on safety matters and improvements
- Requirements:
- Previous experience as Safety Officer or senior rank with strong safety focus, preferably on offshore vessels
- Valid STCW certificates and all documents required for rank
- Good knowledge of ISM, HSE standards, and permit-to-work systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to coach multinational crews
- Medically fit for offshore work and ready to join in Brunei
