Join OSM Thome as 2nd Engineer on an Oil/Chemical Tanker trading in Europe. You will support safe and efficient engine room operations, working closely with the Chief Engineer and the rest of the technical team.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist Chief Engineer in daily operation and maintenance of all engine room machinery
- Monitor and record engine performance and keep engine room logs updated
- Carry out planned maintenance and repairs on main and auxiliary engines and related systems
- Ensure safe operation of pumps, boilers, purifiers and other tanker equipment
- Support bunkering operations and fuel/lubricant checks
- Follow all safety, environmental and company procedures at all times
- Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Engineer (Motor) license, meeting STCW requirements
- Tanker (Oil/Chemical) experience preferred
- Good knowledge of engine room systems and maintenance routines
- Valid STCW basic and advanced tanker certificates
- Good English communication skills
- Fit for duty with valid medical certificate
