OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Electro Technical Rating (ETR) to join our oil/chemical tanker fleet trading worldwide. You will support safe and reliable operation of all electrical and electronic systems on board.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist Electro Technical Officer and engineering team with maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment
- Carry out routine checks on generators, motors, switchboards and control panels
- Support troubleshooting of faults in power distribution and automation systems
- Perform cable laying, terminations and basic testing work as directed
- Follow safety procedures and permit-to-work systems at all times
- Keep tools, spares and work areas in good order and properly recorded
- Requirements:
- Valid ETR or equivalent electro-technical rating certificate in accordance with STCW
- Previous experience on tankers (oil/chemical) preferred
- Up-to-date STCW safety trainings and valid medical certificate (fit for duty, worldwide)
- Good knowledge of marine electrical systems and basic electronics
- Ability to work safely, follow instructions and cooperate with a multinational crew
- Good English communication skills, written and spoken
