Information about the job:
- Job Title: Machinist.
- Project: Various Offshore Vessels.
- Location: Worldwide.
- Start Date: TBC.
- Duration: 12 months (renewable).
- Rotation: 165/30 days on/off or 56/28 days on/off.
- Salary: Please state your realistic expectations when applying. This will be discussed with the right candidate. Consolidated Monthly Salary, paid only while working.
- Insurance: Provided by the company.
- Employer: Our client, a drilling and construction contractor.
Requirements/Qualifications/Competence:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience operating manual lathes and milling machines in industrial environments.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and production instructions.
- Practical knowledge of machining processes and metal fabrication techniques.
- Experience producing steel components based on drawings, samples, or specifications.
- Skilled in setting up and operating parallel/engine lathes and related workshop equipment.
Tasks:
- Manufacture and modify mechanical parts for offshore vessel operations.
- Operate manual machining equipment to produce accurate components.
- Read technical drawings and select suitable machining methods.
- Fabricate steel parts according to required measurements and quality standards.
- Inspect finished work to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain safe and organized workshop practices.
