Join OSM Thome as 2nd Officer on oil/chemical tankers trading worldwide. We are looking for a reliable and hands-on deck officer to support safe navigation, cargo operations and overall vessel safety.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Officer with navigation, passage planning and bridge watchkeeping
- Monitor and maintain safety, navigation and communication equipment
- Assist in planning and supervising cargo and ballast operations
- Lead and supervise deck crew during mooring, unmooring and deck jobs
- Carry out safety rounds, drills and ISM/ISPS related duties
- Keep accurate logs, records and reports as required
- Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Officer (OOW) license, STCW compliant
- Experience on oil/chemical tankers in the same or similar rank
- Valid tanker endorsements and familiarization for oil/chemical
- All required STCW certificates, valid medical and seaman’s book
- Good English communication skills
- Strong safety mindset and ability to work in an international crew
