Join OSM Thome as 2nd Officer on a car carrier trading worldwide. You will be part of the bridge team, supporting safe navigation, cargo operations, and overall vessel safety on international routes.
- Key responsibilities:
- Stand navigational watch and ensure safe passage planning
- Assist Master and Chief Officer with daily bridge and deck duties
- Monitor navigation equipment, position, and weather conditions
- Support cargo operations and stability control as directed
- Assist with safety drills, ISM/ISPS procedures, and documentation
- Supervise assigned deck crew during watch and maintenance work
- Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Officer (II/1 or II/2 as applicable) license
- STCW certificates fully up to date
- Previous experience as 2/O or experienced 3/O on car carriers or similar vessels preferred
- Good watchkeeping, navigation, and COLREGS knowledge
- Fit for duty with valid medical (ILO/MLC) and travel documents
- Good English communication skills, both spoken and written
