Join OSM Thome as 3rd Officer on a car carrier trading worldwide. You will be part of the bridge team, supporting safe navigation, cargo operations, and overall vessel safety on international voyages.
- Key responsibilities:
- Stand navigational watch as OOW in accordance with COLREGs and company procedures
- Assist with voyage planning, position fixing, and keeping logs and records up to date
- Support berthing, unberthing, and cargo operations for vehicles and rolling cargo
- Carry out safety rounds, equipment checks, and participate in drills
- Assist with maintenance of navigation and safety equipment
- Ensure compliance with ISM, ISPS and other international regulations
- Requirements:
- Valid STCW Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (OICNW) / 3rd Officer license
- Valid STCW basic and advanced safety certificates and medical fitness
- Experience as 3/O or Deck Officer at sea, car carrier or Ro-Ro experience an advantage
- Good English communication skills
- Strong safety mindset and ability to work well within a multinational crew
