- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Engineer in daily engine room operations and maintenance
- Operate, monitor and troubleshoot main engine and auxiliary machinery
- Plan and carry out preventive maintenance and repairs
- Maintain engine room records, logs and reports
- Ensure safe working practices and compliance with company and flag state rules
- Supervise and guide engine ratings in their daily duties
- Requirements:
- Valid STCW 2nd Engineer (III/2) CoC for seagoing vessels
- Recent sea service as 2/E, preferably on general cargo or similar ships
- Good knowledge of engine room systems and planned maintenance
- Valid STCW certificates, medical fitness and travel documents
- Good English communication skills and strong safety awareness
