On behalf of Royal Caribbean Group, we are seeking an experienced Executive Housekeeper to lead the overall Housekeeping Division onboard our world-class cruise ships.

The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing all housekeeping operations, ensuring exceptional cleanliness, guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and compliance with company standards. This leadership role manages large multicultural teams, develops operational strategies, drives continuous improvement, and promotes a culture of excellence while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, safety, and environmental compliance.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the overall operation of the Housekeeping Division onboard.
  • Ensure all housekeeping activities are performed in accordance with Royal Caribbean's operational, safety, environmental, and public health standards.
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and service standards throughout guest and crew areas.
  • Lead, coach, motivate, and develop Housekeeping Managers and team members to achieve operational excellence.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment through effective communication and leadership.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping personnel while supporting career development.
  • Establish departmental objectives, operational plans, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Monitor departmental performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct regular meetings with housekeeping leadership and team members to communicate operational priorities.
  • Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are consistently followed.
  • Coordinate with shipboard leadership and shoreside management to support operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all sanitation, public health (USPH), environmental, and safety regulations.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration across all hotel operations.
  • Oversee emergency preparedness, ensuring all housekeeping personnel participate in required drills and training.
  • Prepare operational reports and support strategic decision-making within the Hotel Department.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive housekeeping management experience within the cruise, luxury hotel, or hospitality industry.
  • Previous experience managing all housekeeping operations, including guest accommodations, public areas, open decks, and pool operations.
  • Proven leadership experience managing large multicultural teams.
  • Strong operational planning, budgeting, and performance management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong commitment to guest satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel management systems.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Manager onboard a cruise ship.
  • Experience in a luxury 4- or 5-star hotel environment.
  • Additional language skills, including Spanish, French, or German.
  • Experience managing departmental budgets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Strong knowledge of USPH, sanitation, environmental, and safety regulations.


Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work onboard for the full duration of the assigned contract.
  • Physically fit to perform shipboard duties, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Ability to participate in emergency drills and safety procedures.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and exceptional leadership skills.
