On behalf of Royal Caribbean Group, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Youth Coordinator to create memorable experiences for children and teenagers through engaging recreational and educational programs onboard.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering age-appropriate activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants, and providing exceptional guest service while fostering a fun, inclusive, and welcoming environment throughout each voyage.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging recreational and educational activities for children and teenagers.
- Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of all participants during youth programs.
- Host games, trivia, themed events, parties, karaoke, and other onboard entertainment activities.
- Design and deliver creative, age-appropriate programs that enhance the guest experience.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and guests through outstanding customer service.
- Assist with embarkation, disembarkation, and other guest-related activities as required.
- Participate in shipboard entertainment and social events.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns while maintaining a high level of service.
- Support the onboarding and orientation of new crew members when required.
- Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and mandatory training requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by shipboard management.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Recreation, Child Development, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Valid CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Valid STCW Basic Safety Training certification.
- Previous shipboard experience in a Manager or Assistant Manager capacity (mandatory).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience working with children or teenagers in hospitality, education, recreation, or cruise operations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Creative, energetic, and passionate about working with children.
- Exceptional written and spoken English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience delivering youth or family entertainment programs onboard cruise ships.
- Experience working within a luxury hospitality or international five-star environment.
- Additional language skills such as German, French, Italian, Spanish, or Portuguese.
- Strong leadership and guest engagement skills.
Other Requirements:
- Physically fit and medically cleared to work onboard.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Comfortable living and working in a multicultural shipboard environment.
- Professional appearance and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while delivering exceptional guest service.
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and creating memorable guest experiences.
