On behalf of Royal Caribbean Group, we are seeking an experienced Stage & Production Manager to lead the technical execution of world-class entertainment productions onboard. The successful candidate will oversee daily theatre and venue operations, manage entertainment technicians and production teams, ensure the safe operation of stage automation and technical equipment, and deliver exceptional production quality while maintaining the highest standards of safety, operational excellence, and guest experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise entertainment technicians, production cast, and technical staff to deliver high-quality entertainment productions.
- Manage the technical execution of theatre productions, rehearsals, headline entertainment, and special events across multiple venues.
- Oversee stage automation systems, cue calling, and technical show operations while ensuring performer and crew safety.
- Coordinate rehearsals, performance schedules, and daily operational planning with shipboard leadership.
- Ensure all venues, backstage areas, dressing rooms, and technical spaces are maintained to the highest operational and safety standards.
- Oversee the maintenance, inspection, inventory, and repair of entertainment technical equipment, including sound, lighting, video, rigging, automation, and performer flying systems.
- Manage technical budgets, inventories, work orders, and administrative documentation.
- Coach, mentor, train, and evaluate entertainment technicians while fostering professional development and a culture of safety.
- Collaborate with shoreside teams, vendors, and shipboard leadership on installations, projects, and operational improvements.
- Monitor production quality and implement continuous improvements to enhance the guest entertainment experience.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and entertainment technical standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by shipboard management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in theatre, entertainment production, or technical stage management.
- Proven experience managing live entertainment productions, theatrical performances, or large-scale events.
- Strong knowledge of stage automation systems, cue calling, and live show operations.
- Experience leading technical entertainment teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of sound, lighting, video, rigging, and performer flying systems is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Degree in Technical Theatre, Theatre Production, Stage Management, Live Entertainment Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous cruise ship entertainment management experience.
- Experience with Broadway, West End, Vegas-style, or large-scale theatrical productions.
- Experience with stage automation and mechanized performer flying systems.
- Experience managing entertainment technical budgets and inventories.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and entertainment management software.
Other Requirements:
- Physically fit and medically cleared for shipboard employment.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work at heights when required.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Ability to participate in emergency drills and safety procedures.
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and delivering exceptional entertainment experiences.
