Chief Housekeeper | Royal Caribbean Group

On behalf of Royal Caribbean Group, we are seeking an experienced Chief Housekeeper to lead all onboard housekeeping operations and deliver exceptional cleanliness, butler services, and guest satisfaction. The successful candidate will oversee housekeeping, butler, laundry, and public area operations while ensuring the highest standards of service, public health compliance, operational efficiency, and team leadership across the vessel.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all housekeeping, butler, laundry, and public area operations onboard.
• Ensure exceptional cleanliness, hygiene, and personalized guest service throughout guest suites, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Manage, coach, train, and develop the housekeeping team to maintain high performance and service excellence.
• Monitor guest satisfaction, promptly resolve guest concerns, and implement continuous service improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, Public Health standards, environmental regulations, and safety procedures.
• Oversee departmental budgets, inventories, purchasing, and cost control while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Conduct inspections of guest accommodations, public areas, equipment, and housekeeping facilities to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, performance evaluations, and workforce planning.
• Collaborate with other shipboard departments to ensure seamless guest service and operational excellence.
• Prepare operational reports, maintain departmental records, and oversee housekeeping administrative functions.
• Participate in emergency drills and promote a culture of safety throughout the department.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by shipboard management.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of managerial experience as a Housekeeper Manager or Butler Manager in a luxury hotel or cruise ship environment.
• Proven leadership experience managing large housekeeping teams.
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, laundry services, and butler operations.
• Experience with budget management, inventory control, and financial planning.
• Thorough knowledge of Public Health regulations and cleaning standards.
• Valid STCW certification.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent spoken and written English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous cruise ship experience as a Chief Housekeeper or equivalent leadership role.
• Experience within a luxury five-star hospitality environment.
• Proficiency in Fidelio, Microsoft Office, and hotel management systems.
• Fluency in an additional language such as German, French, Italian, Spanish, or Mandarin.
• Experience managing multicultural teams and delivering premium guest experiences.

Other Requirements:

• Physically fit and medically cleared for shipboard employment.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work throughout all areas of the vessel.
• Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.
• Professional appearance with exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Ability to participate in emergency drills and safety procedures.
