Join OSM Thome as 2nd Officer on our container vessels trading worldwide. You will be part of a professional deck team, supporting safe navigation, cargo operations, and daily bridge routines.
- Key responsibilities:
- Stand navigational watch and ensure safe passage of the vessel
- Plan and update voyage and passage plans as instructed by Chief Officer/Master
- Assist with cargo operations, stability, and cargo documentation
- Maintain navigational equipment and charts (paper/ECDIS)
- Participate in safety drills, inspections, and ISM/ISPS procedures
- Support mooring operations and other deck duties as required
- Requirements:
- Valid STCW II/1 or II/2 license for 2nd Officer or equivalent
- Recent experience on container vessels preferred
- All mandatory STCW certificates and valid Seaman’s Book
- Valid medical fitness certificate
- Good level of English, both spoken and written
- Strong safety mindset and ability to work in a multinational crew
