Join OSM Thome as 3rd Engineer (3/E) onboard Stena Forwarder, starting 27.08.2026. As part of the engine team trading in UK waters, you will support the safe and efficient operation of all engine room machinery and systems.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist in operation, watchkeeping and upkeep of main engine, auxiliaries and related systems
- Carry out routine checks, troubleshooting and planned maintenance as per PMS
- Monitor and record engine parameters, fuel and lube oil systems
- Support safe bunkering, transfers and pollution prevention procedures
- Follow company safety standards, permit-to-work and reporting procedures
- Work closely with 2/E and C/E on repairs and overhauls as required
- Requirements:
- Valid UK work permit
- STCW-compliant Certificate of Competency for 3rd Engineer or equivalent
- All required STCW safety and survival certificates up to date
- Recent sea service in engine department, preferably on similar vessels
- Good English communication and ability to work in an international crew
- Strong safety mindset and willingness to follow company procedures
