OSM Thome is looking for an experienced 2nd Engineer for a chemical tanker trading worldwide. You will be a key member of the engine department, supporting safe and efficient vessel operations.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Engineer in day-to-day engine room operations
- Operate, monitor and maintain main engine and auxiliary machinery
- Plan and carry out routine maintenance and repairs
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of cargo handling and pumping systems
- Keep engine room logs, records and reports up to date
- Follow company, flag state and international safety and environmental rules
- Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Engineer CoC (unlimited) meeting STCW requirements
- Recent experience as 2/E on chemical tankers
- Good knowledge of engine room systems and tanker operations
- Valid tanker and STCW safety certificates
- Good English communication skills
- Fit for duty with valid medical certificate
