OSM Thome is looking for an experienced 2nd Engineer for oil/chemical tankers trading worldwide. You will support safe and efficient engine room operations and keep all machinery in good working order.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist Chief Engineer in daily engine room management and watchkeeping
- Operate, monitor and maintain main engine, auxiliaries and related systems
- Plan and carry out preventive maintenance and repairs
- Ensure safe bunkering and correct use of fuel and lube oils
- Keep engine room records, logs and reports up to date
- Follow company and international safety and environmental rules
- Requirements:
- Valid STCW 2/E CoC for motor vessels
- Recent experience as 2nd Engineer on oil/chemical tankers
- Good knowledge of tanker operations, MARPOL and safety procedures
- All mandatory STCW certificates, valid medical and tanker endorsements
- Good English communication skills and strong safety mindset
