Key responsibilities
- Overall command of the vessel and crew
- Ensure safe navigation and ship handling in all conditions
- Maintain ISM, ISPS and company procedures on board
- Oversee cargo operations and stability for bulk cargoes
- Manage onboard safety drills, training and discipline
- Liaise with owners, charterers, agents and port authorities
- Ensure proper maintenance standards and good housekeeping on board
Requirements
- Valid STCW II/2 Master Mariner CoC for vessels of 3000 GT or more
- Proven seagoing experience as Master on bulk carriers
- Strong ship handling and navigation skills on worldwide trade
- Good knowledge of bulk cargo operations and stability
- Up-to-date STCW safety and security certificates
- Good command of English, written and spoken
- Strong leadership, communication and crew management skills
