Ordinary Seaman (OS) – Bulk Carrier – Worldwide
**Description**
OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Ordinary Seaman to join a bulk carrier trading worldwide under Switzerland flag. Joining port to be advised. The OS will work under the Bosun and Deck Officers, assisting with all deck operations, maintenance and watchkeeping duties.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist with mooring and unmooring operations
- Carry out chipping, painting, cleaning and general deck maintenance
- Assist with cargo operations as directed
- Perform lookout and helmsman duties as required
- Follow safety procedures and participate in drills
- Proper handling, securing and maintenance of deck gear and equipment
**Requirements**
- At least 1 year sea service as OS on seagoing vessels (preferably bulk carrier) with valid US visa prior embarkation
- Valid COP: Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (SCRB)
- Valid Basic Training (BT) and Proficiency in Security and Safety (PSSR)
- Valid seafarer’s medical certificate fit for duty
- Good command of English for shipboard communication
- Willingness to work in a mixed crew and adhere to company safety standards
