Set sail with OSM Thome as Chief Engineer on a bulk carrier trading worldwide. Take full charge of the engine department, keep all machinery running safely and efficiently, and support smooth operations at sea and in port.
- Key responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the engine department and engine room crew
- Operate, monitor and maintain main engine, auxiliaries and all machinery
- Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance
- Ensure safe engine room practices and compliance with company and international regulations
- Manage bunker operations, fuel and lube oil consumption and records
- Coordinate with the Master and deck officers for safe and efficient vessel operation
- Maintain engine room documentation and reports
- Requirements:
- Valid Chief Engineer license for seagoing vessels
- Experience as C/E or strong 1/E background on bulk carriers
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness
- Good English communication skills
- Strong leadership, troubleshooting and hands-on technical skills
- Willingness to work worldwide on board bulk carriers
