Join OSM Thome as 2nd Engineer (2/E) on a chemical tanker trading worldwide. You will be part of a professional engine team, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable operation of all machinery and equipment.
- Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Engineer in safe and efficient running of the engine room
- Operate, monitor and maintain main engine, auxiliaries and related systems
- Plan and carry out routine maintenance and repairs
- Oversee engine room crew in day-to-day duties
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and company procedures
- Keep accurate engine room logs and maintenance records
- Requirements:
- Valid 2nd Engineer (Motor) CoC, STCW-compliant
- Previous experience as 2/E on chemical tankers preferred
- Good knowledge of engine room operations and tanker safety
- Valid STCW basic and advanced tanker / chemical tanker certificates
- Good English communication skills
- Medically fit for sea service
