Join OSM Thome as 2nd Officer on an Oil/Chemical Tanker. We are looking for an experienced and safety-minded deck officer ready to support safe navigation, cargo operations, and bridge watchkeeping on a busy tanker trade.
- Key responsibilities:
- Stand navigational watch and ensure safe passage in all weather and traffic conditions
- Plan and monitor voyages, including updating charts and publications (paper/ECDIS)
- Assist with cargo operations, including loading, discharging, and tank inspections
- Support the Master and Chief Officer in implementing safety and environmental procedures
- Participate in drills, safety meetings, and ISM/ISPS requirements
- Oversee deck crew during routine maintenance and mooring operations
- Requirements:
- Valid STCW Officer of the Watch (OOW) license for deck officers
- Oil/Chemical Tanker experience and valid tanker endorsements
- Good knowledge of ECDIS, navigation, COLREGs, and cargo safety
- Valid medical fitness certificate and all required STCW courses
- Good English communication skills, both spoken and written
- Strong focus on safety, teamwork, and professional conduct
