On behalf of Mano Maritime Ltd., OSM Thome is recruiting an experienced Staff Captain to join a passenger cruise vessel.

The Staff Captain serves as the Master's second-in-command and is responsible for the safe operation of the deck department, marine operations, safety, security, environmental compliance, and crew management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Master in the safe navigation and overall operation of the vessel.
  • Lead and supervise the deck department, including officers and ratings.
  • Oversee mooring, anchoring, tender, gangway, and cargo-related operations where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISPS, and company procedures.
  • Coordinate safety drills, emergency preparedness, and crew training.
  • Supervise deck maintenance, inspections, painting programs, and repair activities.
  • Oversee environmental compliance, including waste management, ballast water, and freshwater systems.
  • Monitor the safety and maintenance of passenger open decks, pools, jacuzzis, and recreational areas.
  • Support vessel security operations and ensure all required security procedures are implemented.
  • Promote high standards of discipline, professionalism, and crew welfare.


Requirements:

  • Master Unlimited or Chief Mate Unlimited Certificate of Competency.
  • Previous experience as Staff Captain, Chief Officer, or senior deck officer on a passenger cruise vessel.
  • Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations and safety standards.
  • Proven leadership and crew management experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
