Join OSM Thome as Electro Technical Officer (ETO) on our bulk carriers trading worldwide. You will be responsible for the safe, reliable operation and maintenance of all electrical and electronic systems on board, supporting safe navigation, cargo operations and vessel performance.
- Key responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor and maintain all electrical, electronic and automation systems on board
- Troubleshoot and repair faults in power generation, distribution and control systems
- Maintain and test navigation, communication and engine control equipment
- Carry out planned maintenance and keep technical records up to date
- Support safe cargo and ballast operations from an electrical/automation perspective
- Work closely with the Master, Chief Engineer and deck/engine teams to ensure safe vessel operations
- Requirements:
- Valid ETO CoC and all required STCW certificates for service at sea
- Sea-going experience as ETO, preferably on bulk carriers
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical, electronic and automation systems
- Good command of English, spoken and written
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Fit for duty and willing to work worldwide on a rotation basis
- Candidate must have experience ME engine type
- Prefers with valid US Visa
- Must have valid documents including Seamans Book and SID
