Here is an exciting opportunity to join the Northern Lights project. With two new vessels, liquefied CO₂ will be transported from onshore industrial facilities to Northern Lights’ purpose-built receiving terminal at Øygarden, near Bergen. From Øygarden, the CO₂ will be transported offshore via a pipeline to an injection well located 2,600 metres below the seabed.
The vessels were delivered in 2024 and form part of the world's first full-scale CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) value chain. The ships are classed by DNV, registered in Norway, and operated under the Norwegian (NOR) flag by predominantly Scandinavian crews.
Position Details
- Preferred joining date: December 2026
- Vessel: 7,500 m³ CO₂ Carrier (130 metres)
- Rotation: 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off
- Salary: According to the Norwegian NOR collective agreement
- Area of operation: North Sea
We Are Looking for Candidates Who:
- Have a minimum of 3 months' experience as an Ordinary Seaman
- Are fluent in a Scandinavian language
- Hold valid courses and certificates relevant for service as an Ordinary Seaman
- Have tanker experience (preferred, but not required)
