Join OSM Thome as a Decorator / Ice Carver on a passenger ocean cruise sailing in the Mediterranean. You will help create attractive, welcoming spaces for guests and crew, keeping all areas tidy, safe, and in line with the vessel’s style and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, set up and maintain decorations in public areas, lounges, dining rooms and other assigned spaces
- Prepare and install seasonal, event and theme decorations as instructed by the hotel and deck management
- Ensure all decorative materials are safely secured and comply with maritime safety and fire regulations
- Carry out regular checks, repairs and replacements of decorative items to keep areas in good condition
- Work closely with other hotel and deck crew to support onboard events and activities
- Keep storage areas organized, maintain inventory of decoration materials and report needs for replenishment
Requirements
- Previous experience as a decorator on passenger vessels, cruise ships or in a similar hospitality role
- Good sense of design, color and space, with hands-on skills in simple crafting and decoration work
- Familiarity with basic maritime safety rules, especially fire safety related to decorative materials
- Ability to work at sea, in shifts, and under time pressure during embarkation days and events
- Good communication skills in English and ability to work in an international crew
- Valid seafarer documents and medical certificates as required for service onboard
