We are looking for an experienced Fitter to join our shuttle tanker operating from Portugal. You will work closely with the engine and deck teams to keep all steel structures, pipes and machinery in safe and reliable condition.
- Key responsibilities:
- Carry out steel repairs, welding and cutting work on hull, deck and engine room structures
- Maintain and repair pipelines, brackets, supports and foundations
- Assist engineers with maintenance and overhauling of shipboard equipment
- Prepare materials and tools for planned and unplanned repair jobs
- Follow all safety procedures and permit-to-work systems during hot work
- Requirements:
- Proven seagoing experience as Fitter on tankers (shuttle tanker experience is an advantage)
- Strong welding and cutting skills (arc, gas; basic knowledge of different steels)
- Valid STCW documents, medical and relevant safety certificates
- Good command of English for shipboard communication and safety
- Fit for sea service, safety-minded and able to work in a multinational crew
