Join OSM Thome as 3rd Officer on a car carrier trading worldwide. You will be part of a professional deck team, ensuring safe navigation, cargo operations and upkeep of the vessel’s safety equipment.
- Key responsibilities:
- Stand navigational watch as OOW, ensuring safe passage and compliance with COLREGs
- Assist in planning and monitoring voyages
- Support loading and discharging operations for vehicles and Ro-Ro cargo
- Maintain and inspect life-saving and firefighting appliances
- Carry out deck maintenance and safety routines as directed by Chief Officer
- Prepare and participate in safety drills and inspections
- Requirements:
- Valid STCW Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (OICNW) CoC appropriate for vessel
- Previous experience as 3/O or suitable experience as Deck Officer, preferably on car carriers/Ro-Ro
- Valid STCW basic and advanced safety certificates and medical fitness
- Good English communication skills, written and spoken
- Strong safety mindset and ability to work well within an international crew
