Set sail as Chief Officer on a bulk carrier trading worldwide with OSM Thome. Take a key role on board, supporting the Master and leading deck operations to ensure safe and efficient voyages.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Master in safe navigation and ship handling
- Plan and supervise cargo operations, stability and ballast
- Lead and manage the deck crew and watchkeeping duties
- Ensure safe work practices and compliance with company and international regulations
- Oversee deck maintenance and upkeep of safety and firefighting equipment
- Monitor ISM/ISPS compliance and support audits and drills
Requirements
- Valid Chief Officer / Chief Mate license (unlimited)
- Recent experience as C/O or 2/O on bulk carriers
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness
- Good English communication skills
- Strong leadership, safety mindset and teamwork attitude
- Candidate must be experienced Chief Officer in Bulk Carrier vessel equipped with cranes
- Must have valid documents including STCW, SID, Seamans book, PPT
