Join OSM Thome as Fitter (FTR) onboard our oil/chemical tankers trading worldwide. You will work closely with the engine and deck teams to keep all steel structures, pipes, and machinery in safe and efficient condition.
- Key responsibilities:
- Carry out welding, cutting, grinding, and general steel repair jobs
- Maintain and repair pipelines, brackets, supports, and metal fittings
- Assist engine crew with maintenance and overhauling of machinery as required
- Follow safety procedures and permit-to-work systems
- Keep workshop, tools, and equipment in good order
- Requirements:
- Previous experience as Fitter on tanker vessels (oil/chemical preferred)
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness
- Good welding and cutting skills (arc, gas, and basic fabrication)
- Working knowledge of shipboard safety practices
- Ability to work in a team and follow instructions in English
