Join OSM Thome as a Fitter on an Oil/Chemical Tanker trading in Canada. We are looking for a hands-on, safety-minded crew member with solid experience in steel work and maintenance on board tankers.
- Key responsibilities:
- Carry out steel repairs, fabrication and pipe work as instructed by Chief Engineer
- Maintain and repair deck and engine room structures, ladders, handrails and foundations
- Assist with welding, cutting and grinding jobs around the vessel
- Support planned maintenance and dry dock/repair yard jobs when required
- Follow all safety procedures and permit-to-work systems
- Requirements:
- Previous experience as Fitter on tanker vessels (oil/chemical preferred)
- Valid STCW certificates and medical fit for sea service
- Proven welding and cutting skills (arc, gas, etc.)
- Good English communication skills
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work independently
