Join OSM Thome as a Fitter on an oil/chemical tanker trading to and from Canada. We are looking for a hands-on seafarer with solid steelwork skills, who can keep deck and engine structures, pipelines and fittings in safe working condition.
- Key responsibilities:
- Carry out steel repairs, cutting, welding and fabrication on deck and in engine room
- Maintain and repair pipelines, brackets, supports, ladders and handrails
- Assist with tank, ballast line and cargo system repairs as instructed
- Support planned maintenance and emergency repairs alongside deck and engine crew
- Ensure safe working practices and proper use of tools and PPE at all times
- Requirements:
- Sea-going experience as Fitter, preferably on tanker vessels
- Strong skills in welding, cutting and basic fabrication
- Valid STCW certificates and medical meeting international requirements
- Good English communication and ability to work in a mixed-nationality crew
- Fit for physically demanding work in all weather conditions
