Join OSM Thome as a Fitter on an oil/chemical tanker trading to and from Canada. You will be part of a professional deck and engine team, helping keep the vessel, equipment and piping systems safe and in good working order.
- Key responsibilities:
- Carry out steel repairs, fabrication and welding on deck and in engine room
- Maintain and repair pipelines, valves, brackets, supports and ship structures
- Assist engineers and deck officers during maintenance and dry-docking
- Operate and care for workshop tools, welding and cutting equipment
- Follow safety procedures, hot work permits and company standards at all times
- Requirements:
- Previous seagoing experience as Fitter on tanker vessels (oil/chemical preferred)
- Good welding and fabrication skills (arc, gas and basic cutting)
- Valid STCW certificates and tanker familiarization as per flag and company rules
- Good English communication and ability to work in an international crew
- Fit for duty with valid medical and ready to join within a reasonable time
